Last Weekend, Thirty by 30 Progress, and a Shiny Gem.


Last weekend, Phil and I enjoyed a lovely child-free weekend in Austin, while Jaye enjoyed a weekend at Mimi and Pops. We drove down on Friday to stay with our friends Chris and Laura, who are expecting their first child in just a few weeks. We spent Friday evening doing our favorite thing: playing nerdy board games! #10: Completed, Finding a Gay Friendly Church in Dallas

Number 10 on my Thirty by 30 list was to find a church community in Dallas. I'm happy to say we've completed that! We have joined the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration. We're very happy there and starting to get involved. Jaye is being baptized on Sunday. I've been attending the Moms Group on Wednesday mornings. Veggies and More Veggies: Whole Living Challenge Week 2

Well, I survived the first week of the Whole Living Challenge. Now I'm starting week 2 of the Whole Living Challenge. How's it going? I still don't love vegetables. But I did eat a lot of them last week. Until Friday, when we left town for a Settlers Weekend at the beach. Then I cheated all weekend long and ate whatever I wanted to. And it was awesome. Why Can’t I Love Vegetables?!?


The 30th item (clearly I'm going out of order in completion) on my Thirty by 30 list is to eliminate processed food and learn to eat vegetables. This week, I took a tangible step towards that goal, hopefully. I started the Whole Living Challenge. Of Top Chef and Restaurant Week and Anniversaries


Phil and I watch a lot of Top Chef. In fact, we are about to go watch an episode of Top Chef Masters on DVR. While we're watching we always get hungry. And wonder if the food they are making is really as terrible or delicious as the judges are saying.
