Grocery Breakdown: Week of Oct. 4

Sunday: We both ate a big lunch and then were too full for dinner.
Monday: Chicken tacos
Tuesday: Rainbow trout, probably with fresh basil, lemon juice, and lots of garlic. Maybe some other recipe if I find one I like. It was on sale at the co-op.
Wednesday: I’ve invited my favorite professor over for dinner along with two other students. I’m going to make enchiladas because that’s what I make when people come over.
Thursday: Bean and chicken soup made from the bean soup mix I bought this week, some carrots and green peppers from the farmer’s market that are on their last legs and some homemade chicken broth from our freezer. I guess you could call it “Stone Soup.” Which reminds me that Phil and I had a conversation the other day about that kids’ story. He remembers it as just being a magical stone that created the soup. I remember it being more about tricking the selfish people into contributing an ingredient each to help the community. Who’s right? What do you guys remember about that kid’s book?
Friday: Leftovers?
Total this week: $65.23

    You are right!

  2. I can’t help but notice how Phil’s interpretation shows his preternatural disposition toward optimism!!!
