It’s finally starting to warm up here. The snow has basically all melted off. And I’m afraid my focus has been melting with it. I came back from spring break to be greeted by back-to-back-to-back big midterms in Contracts and Property and a big writing assignment in WRAP.
Two grueling weeks later, the worst was behind me. I found out I did really well on the Contracts midterm for sure, and I felt good about the Property exam (though I don’t know for sure yet). So last weekend, I got to take a bit of a break. Here’s how that went down:
-lunch at Lee & Dee’s barbeque, a little hole-in-the-wall just up the block from school, with a couple of classmates was a really nice start to the weekend.
-I headed to a thrift shop afterward to grab materials for Big Margo’s new bed and sewed that up later in the evening
-Phil and I just stayed home and ate little bruschetta for dinner.
-we slept in and then walked to A Baker’s Wife for the first time in awhile. We also stopped for coffee at the new Angry Catfish Bicycle and Coffee Shop, which seems like a really cool place. I’m excited to have a bike shop within walking distance.
-I read some Contracts before heading out the the Pro Se Clinic I help with at William Mitchell.
-tailgating and the Res Ipsa Cup, a hockey game between William Mitchell and Hamline law school. Hamline won in overtime. But at least the game was close and exciting.
-we met Laura, Chris, Joe, and Kristin out at Champps for the end of some basketball game and them some Settlers (of course!) afterward.
-back to church for the first time in awhile.
-stop at Lake Street Target to check out the new remodel (P Fresh is the corporate lingo) and start out big 20% off day stockup.
-MOA for some makeup for me and to check out the new jellyfish exhibit at the aquarium (the exhibit was really cool, but they took the octopus tank away, and I was bummed about that).
-second stop at Target (Richfield this time) to finish our stockup on the grocery side.
-read Torts for Monday.
As a result of my glorious and much needed calmer weekend, I’ve got a pretty good list of assignments to get ahead on this week and weekend:
-Civ Pro outline
-Civ Pro practice essay
-Contracts reading and catch-up
-Property catch-up (I read the wrong week last week!)
-WRAP opening components of sum judg motion
